United Way Leadership Vancouver

When leaders join together, everything is possible
Lead positive change in your world. Take the next step with United Way Leadership Vancouver.

For more than a decade, Leadership Vancouver provided rewarding learning experiences to many emerging leaders. Leadership Vancouver participants have since made countless valuable contributions to our community. A revitalized Leadership Vancouver program is back in business. United Way Leadership Vancouver, a partnership between United Way of the Lower Mainland and Royal Roads University's Centre for Applied Leadership and Management, is committed to a new standard of excellence built upon a powerful legacy of social capital.

Who it's for
As a participant in United Way Leadership Vancouver, you will sharpen your leadership skills, learn best practices, and join a network of lasting connections with people in leadership roles in the world of business, government, labour and the social sector. The United Way Leadership Vancouver program is ideal for people in all sectors who are well-prepared for leadership roles in their organizations and who are committed to building a healthy, caring, inclusive community.

What you can expect from the program structure
With support from United Way Leadership Vancouver program facilitators Beth Page and Shauna Fenwick, participants will gain a solid foundation in leadership, as well as current knowledge of issues, challenges and opportunities in the region.

United Way Leadership Vancouver is open to up to 40 participants - an intentional mix of individuals from diverse backgrounds. Experiential learning and structured dialogue are blended with training in essential skills and hands-on involvement.

You will enjoy access to a variety of senior leaders already engaged in addressing our community's most pressing challenges. You'll connect with key players and experts engaged in business, government and community initiatives, drawing insights into the opportunities and demands of real-life leadership. Graduates emerge with a capacity for community-building that is equally useful for leaders in private, public, labour and not-for-profit organizations.

Above all, you will come away from your four-month experience with increased capacity to make a difference in your community.
